Cape

The DSTV Premiership match between Kaizer Chiefs and Cape Town City has been called off after the Amakhosi failed to pitch at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, 4 December 2021.

Kaizer Chiefs have been hit by a Covid-19 outbreak among players and staff with 31 people reported to have tested positive for Covid-19 at the club. “Having followed all match day procedures, Cape Town City was present at FNB Stadium for the start of the match at 18:00,” Cape Town City confirmed.

Cape Town City confirmed that the match was called off after the Glamour Boys failed to pitch at the FNB Stadium.
“Regrettably Chiefs did not arrive and the match officials called the game off at 18:15 in accordance with the rules of the game. A sad day for football,” Cape Town City added.

Kaizer Chiefs confirmed yesterday that they will not be able to host Cape Town City due to the recent Covid-19 outbreak at the club and also revealed that they have submitted two letters to the PSL pleading for the postponement of the matches scheduled for December.
