Department of Human Settlement is offering residents who have been financially affected by Covid-19 residential relief grant.

The department stated that this programme is meant to assist those who suffered income loss during this pandemic including those who are retrenched or have got salary reductions.

To qualify for this funding a tenant needs to be a South African citizen or have a valid permanent residence permit, they would need to also provide proof that they have been retrenched, latest bank statements or evidence that the employer has decreased their income.

The Residential Relief Programme  aims to help tenants in social housing, this are houses provided to people with low income such as the marabastad units that were recently launched.
