The case of a 40-year-old sergeant attached to Groblersdal Police Station, who is accused of raping and sexually grooming her son on camera, has been postponed, as per the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID).
The accused was expected to apply for bail at the Siyabuswa Magistrate’s Court on Monday. However, her case has been postponed to Monday, 6 February, and she’s currently detained at the Dennilton Police Station until her bail application.
As previously reported, the accused was arrested after a video of her raping her son went viral.
“The female officer was seen in a video engaging in a sexual act with her son. IPID will oppose the bail application, which will be heard in court on Monday,” said IPID spokesperson Lizzy Suping.
The video reportedly dates back to 2020 and he was 10 years old at the time of the incident.
