Capricorn TVET College-Seshego Campus engulfed in flames

Chaos escalated at Capricorn TVET College-Seshego Campus as parts of the Campuses’ buildings were torched during a student protest over NSFAS, shortage of lectures and textbooks on Tuesday evening.

 

 

The institution’s administrative delays to send academic results and registration data to NSFAS had been cited as one of the major reasons for the protests.

 

Furthermore, students were experiencing shortage of lecturers and textbooks at the college.

 

The students went on a rampage and the police responded swiftly by using rubber Bullets to disburse the angry students.

 

Several students were left injured and some arrested during the protest.

 

 

Vehicles have been burnt and destroyed.

 

Emergency personnel ranging from fire Department, Police, and Security are currently on the scene.
