Advocate Teffo Withdraws from the Senzo Meyiwa Case

Adv Teffo

Advocate Malesela Teffo has told the court he is withdrawing as counsel representing four of the accused in the Senzo Meyiwa trial. He claimed a plan to harass him was hatched in the Office of President, Cyril Ramaphos and that he could not take the harassment he was receiving from the State and the court.

“I have been harassed in all spheres, so getting out of this one will give me a breather,” said Teffo.

Teffo will return to his role as watching brief on behalf of the Meyiwa family in the case 375 matter where Kelly Khumalo, her mother Gladness and sister Zandi are among the accused.

Earlier on Tuesday, he had brought forward a letter written by accused number three, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, who made claims regarding the gruesome living conditions at Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Services.

After leading questioning of his client Mncube on the unbearable living conditions, the letter was dismissed and Teffo dropped a bombshell in the High Court that he was withdrawing from the case.

Teffo also alleges that Judge Tshifhiwa Maumela is also part of the cabal that wants him removed from this case.

Teffo also mentioned to the media that he has been offered money, however, he did not mention how much he was offered and by who.
