Police in Kenya are in search of the husband of the prolific athlete, Agnes Tirop, who was found dead in her home. According to Athletics Kenya, her body was found in one of her training in western Kenya with a stab wound on her neck.

Tirop was an inspiration to many young girls in Kenya, just recently, she broke the women-only record in the women’s 10km at Road to Records Race in Germany, while last week she finished second at the women’s half marathon in Valencia.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has condemned the action of the perpetrator and has called for fast investigations into the murder, so that the perpetrator can face the full might of the law. In his statement, he made it clear that he regretted to know that the rising star has lost her life through a criminal act, he continued to label her killers as cowards.

Agnes who was just 10 days away from her 26^th birthday, represented Kenya in the 5000m race at the Tokyo Olympics and finished fourth in the finals. She was also the 2015 World Cross-Country champion and she was still keen to achieve more in her life. She will be greatly missed for her talent and soft heart that she had. A criminal investigation is now underway into her, death with police saying her husband has gone missing.
