Victory for the family of Tshegofatso Pule, as her boyfriend and father of her unborn daughter Nthuthuko Shoba, is found guilty for Pre meditating her murder. Muzikayise Malepane was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment, for the murder of Tshegofatso Pule.
Tears of joy, chants of singing an dancing from the family including the crowd outside, overwhelmed the ruling with the family saying they are happy with the verdict and this was long coming. Dressed in orange overalls, Bontle a family member and founder of the Tshegofatso Pule foundation, says they chose the colour and design specifically to send out the message that they are accompanying Shoba and all the murders to prison.
Pule’s aunt whom she resided with, told the media she has been waiting for Tshegofatso since June 2020 when she alleged she is paying Shoba a visit, till to date. Her uncle who has been the family spokesperson, added to say this is the beginning of Justice and hope for nothing but a life sentence. “His family can still go and talk to him in jail but we will have to go talk to a tombstone.” explained the uncle
Pule was found shot on the chest and hanging from a three in Roodepoort in June 2020. Shoba has not for once showed his face during his court appearances, he was forever with mask on. Upon being found guilty, he provided a confusing expression of emotion putting down his head and hand on face the minute he was found guilty.
The final verdict and sentencing of Shoba has been now set for 10 May 2022. The NPA says this may have been a long process but has proved justice still exists. Malepane serves 20 years for murdering Pule, Shoba was found guilty for Pre meditating the death but was not found guilty for obstruction of justice.
