An outstanding performance from Manchester United in their 2021/22 season opening match as they trashed Leeds united in a six goal thriller.

It all started with the unveiling of their off season signing, Raphael Varane who was introduced to fans at Old Trafford in a fully packed stadium. The defender joined Manchester United from Real Madrid.

Manchester United started the match against Leeds united on a greater level, as they produced a good performance from the beginning, Bruno Fernandes scored the first goal of the match in the 30th minute with a good assist from Paul Pogba.

Manchester United continued to put pressure on the visitors, heading into the half time. Luke Ayling managed to put Leeds United back on level, with a good strike in the 49th minute.

Shortly after within two minutes Manchester United managed to take the lead again in the 52nd minute through Greenwood goal. Pogba continued with his heroics by providing Bruno Fernandes with a good assist, to score his second and third goal of the match for United.

Bruno completed hattrick goals in the 60th minute, making it 4 – 1 for Manchester united. Jadon Sancho made his debut from the bench after being signed from Borussia Dortmund.

Fred scored the fifth goal for Manchester united in the 68th minute with Pogba assist.
