Baroka FC forward Richard Mbulu has told Africa Newz that he knew he was going to score against Mamelodi Sundowns in their DSTV Premiership clash on Monday, 14 February 2022.
Baroka FC and Mamelodi Sundowns locked horns at the Peter Mokaba Stadium last night with Masandawana eager to extend the lead at the top of the table whilst Bakgakga were looking to get away from the Relegation Zone.
Lyle Lakay opened the scoring in the 49th minute of the second half as the defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns took the lead. It was a tightly contested affair with the Limpopo based side battling hard to get back in the game and their efforts were rewarded with a stoppage time equalizer from Richard Mbulu in the 95th minute with virtually the last play of the game.
Mbulu after his heroic exploits has shared with Africa Newz that he saw the goal coming as he and his fellow teammates always push themselves always to not give up until the last minute.
“I feel good because it’s nice to score those kinds of goals,” Mbulu said.
“Yeah, I saw it coming because we push ourselves not to give up until the last minute. I remember the time I was coming in I told my team manager that this game I will score, and I end up scoring,” added Mbulu.
