Early on Sunday morning 16th January 2022, 62 members from ASEZ – World Mission Society Church of God University Students volunteer group took to the streets of Soshanguve Block H and conducted their 6610th world clean-up campaign for Green Earth.
ASEZ is an organisation that aims to not only combat climate change through participating in campaigns that lead to a sustainable environment, but also aims to spread the love of Mother through good deeds. From donating blood to visiting orphanages, they strive to serve communities which are underprivileged with warmth and love. People are suffering from disasters such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, terrorist attacks, wars, and climate catastrophes caused by climate change.
They are in need of our help. The answer to all these challenges depends on university students who are the leaders of future generations. We have the power to change present despair to future hope, and current frustration to future happiness. The power of one person is weak, but if all of us work together to solve the problems each campus is facing, the hopeful future of humanity will soon become a reality!
On the 16th of January 2022, they had a mission to clear Aubrey Matlakala Street next to the Tshwane University of Technology North Campus. They were divided into two groups, one focused on the litter around the fence of the University and the other focused on the illegal dumping side. Because the weather was allowing and some cheering for the community members who were driving pass the area, they worked joyfully, together with the help of the Ward 34 Councillor: Sisi Rose Sethole. She provided them with a total of 150 plastic bags and cleaning tool such as shovels and rakes.
Their eagerness and determination to achieve their goal of giving the residents of Block H a cleaner street, they worked diligent with a warm of a mother who wants to keep her home clean and tidy for her family. They worked until all 150 bags of plastics ran out.
They managed to collect a total of 150 bags filled with Baby Diapers, Plastics, Bottles, etc. Although they were covered with dirt and smell, they finished the clean-up with warm, bright smiles and cheerful laughter.
