A disturbing video is circulating on social media showing South African Police shooting a violent man reportedly in a house at a lodge in Muldersdrift, Gauteng.
The police were reportedly called after an argument allegedly broke out between the suspect and staff at the Lodge. In the video, the suspect can be seen shouting at the police officers, with two standing at the door and two other officers standing outside. The suspect, seen in his underwear, after pulling out a gun on the officers was warned by one of the other people in the room that he was now ‘playing dangerously’.
The suspect then proceeded to snatch a gun from one of the officers standing at the door yelling “shoot me”, ” shoot me” and there after one of the officers at the door shot the man from close range. The suspect is reportedly said to be recovering in hospital.
Mzansi tweeps have reacted to the video with some seemingly praising the police officer who shot the volatile suspect. “How can you disrespect a whole SAPS like this. I’m glad he got what he was asking for!”, ” #SAPS had done what they had to, the man posed danger to everyone”, “SAPS were supposed to shoot him immediately after fetching his gun. Good job anyway, officer deserves promotion,” read some of the tweets.
