According to Emergency Services, a woman believed to be in her 20s in age was shot and killed during an alleged jewellery store robbery in Benoni on Sunday, 14 November 2021.

It is also said that the owner of the store also a woman sustained minor Injuries during the robbery.”ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 11:15 along with relevant law enforcement to find the alleged suspect in the doorway of the shop having suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach area. She, unfortunately, showed no signs of life and was declared dead on arrival,” the ER24 emergency services confirmed.

The unidentified woman found on the doorway with gunshot wounds, is believed to have been the instigator to committing the crime. More information on the crime is yet to be confirmed by the SAPS.

“The owner of the store, a woman in her 30s, was initially thought to have have been shot. She had, however, only suffered cuts to her hands from broken glass. She was treated and transported to a private hospital for further treatment,” ER24 added.

The police have reportedly launched an investigation into the incident and the investigations are ongoing.
