Jamela – three pre-schoolers  died from heatstroke on Wednesday afternoon after accidentally locking themselves in a sedan vehicle for three hours.

The pre-schoolers were transported to Maphalle clinic and two were certified dead upon arrival. The third child aged three later succumbed to the heatwave at Mankweng hospital on Thursday afternoon.

Police responded at about 2pm following a complaint from Maphalle clinic and have since opened an inquest docket.

The Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has ordered the police to leave no stone unturned to unearth the circumstances surrounding these mysterious deaths.

She also urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and adhere to safety guidelines to prevent such devastating incidents in the future.
