Mpheni Home Defenders books their place in Nedbank Cup Last 16

 Thohoyandou – Mpheni Home Defenders booked their place in the Nedbank Cup Round of 16 following their 3-0 thrashing of fellow ABC Motsepe League side Clarewood JPM FC at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Mpheni who are vying for promotion to the National First Division have shown that they have the temperament to achieve great heights, as they continue to maintain their reputation of being the most feared team in Limpopo ABC Motsepe League.

The hosts did most of the attacking in the opening exchanges, and they created the good goalscoring opportunities as Bongani Makanya opened the scoring for Mpheni on the stroke of halftime and JPM went into the halftime trailing behind.

The Bulls continued to launch attacks after the restart, and doubled their lead through Super Sub Marvelous Shilenga on the 67th minute.

Marks Mayambela later sealed the game with a goal on the 87th minute for Mpheni to secure a spot in the Nedbank Cup last 16.

In addition to being in the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup, Mpheni are currently on top of Limpopo ABC Motsepe League Stream A.

Standings, which gives them a good chance to gain promotion into the second division.
