Seshego — Rookies Copperbelt Ladies FC marked their debut in the Hollywoodbets Super League with a 2-1 over their last season’s Sasol League rivals AmaTuks at Seshego Ground B, on Sunday Morning.
The Limpopo side, last season’s Sasol League winners, showed that they are not awed by the prospect of top flight football, as goals from Nomphelo Yakuphi and Karabo Phogole took them to an impressive victory over AmaTuks .
The teams traded attacks in the frantic opening stages, with the best chance seeing AmaTuks taking the lead courtessy of a penalty by Betty Mallela. The hosts seemed the more cohesive team in attack, creating further threatening moments in search of an equaliser. The hosts persistent attacks paid off as they went into the half-hour mark leading 2-1.
As the second half kicked off the two sides picked up where they left off as they traded attacks but couldn’t convert their chances and Copperbelt were solid enough to continue with their dominance over AmaTuks as they claimed their first three points in the top flight League.
