Former Orlando Pirates captain and defender Happy Jele’s expected move to Royal AM is back on, as he was spotted at training with the team.

Jele has been linked with Thwihli Thwahla following his departure from the Buccaneers after a legendary 16-year stay, He was expected to join the Durban side ahead of the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season, but the move did not materialize.

However, the legendary former Orlando Pirates defender is expected to sign a contract on a free transfer with the KZN based club and continue with his playing career. Jele will form part of Royal AM’s defence with the former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Ricardo Nascimento.

The veteran defender had won two league titles, two Nedbank Cups, a Telkom Knockout competition and been part of three MTN8 title successes, at the time of his stint with the Buccaneers.
