Julius Malema during the EFF press release has expressed their emotion of unsatisfactory with the justice system of South Africa, stating that the court cannot keep releasing criminals out on bail, even though they prove to be a danger to society. Malema says the party is currently seeking justice for the murder of Hillary Gardee, and for the case to not have any delays.
Hillary Gardee was found dead, days after she was reported missing, her body was dumbed at a veld in Nelspruit, with a gunshot wound at the back of her head. Three suspects were arrested and are currently in custody awaiting bail hearing. Malema says they believe the murderers had motive to kill as this was more than just murder and rape, he further stated he suspects witchcraft may be involved, due to how the body was discovered on scene and the injuries he brought up that were not first mentioned.
The leader says they hired private investigators to assist with the findings, and that how they were able to find the forth suspect and handed the information to the police leading to the arrest. He closed the matter on saying the only missing puzzle they are yet to get answers on, is how she got captured and who captures her, how she was transported and taken to the lodge without anyone witnessing the kidnapping of Hillary.
He says “we need the case to be resolved very quick, just like the one of Tshegofatso Pule, we don’t want justice to be delayed we want it done now.” The leader added to say Tshegofatso Pule’s case proved that the justice system can work on solving cases and not drag them for years. He believes the police are working on the case with them and hope the work will lead to answers.
Malema during question and answers in relation to the Justice system in South Africa, relying the question on Tony Yengeni planning on taking Chief Justice Raymond Zondo to court for his findings, he responded by saying “we are fully behind Tony Yengeni and think that Zondo doesn’t know his limit.” He says parliament should start working on the Zondo report as soon as possible and that there should be separation of powers. “Zondo will be engaged like any other person.” he concluded
The EFF calls on all citizens to join the political party as members, it has over 600 000 members thus far and are confident they will hit one million members before December 2022. Malema during his press release, touched on many factor, most especially the states ownership on SAA and it allegedly on the verge of being sold at little to nothing. But most of all, Malema spoke of the justice system in South Africa and how government should stand in making sure people in South Africa are protected and criminals are kept away from society and instead of bail.
