The much anticipated match between the Under 23 China and Zambia women’s team took place at 10:00 am on Saturday 24 July 2021 at Rifu’s Miyagi Stadium.
In the first 45 minutes both teams looked strong, China’s Wang Shuang managed to break the deadlock in the first 6 minutes of the game and gave China the lead, Kundajani netted the equalizing goal for the Copper Queens in the 15th minute China went into the half-time leading 3-2.
In the 2nd half Barbra managed to equalize for the Copper Queens in the 47th minute making the score line 3-3, both teams were awarded a penalty each with Banda giving the Zambian team the lead in the 69th minute through a penalty the 21 year old Banda has now tallied six goals in two games after scoring a hattrick against Netherlands 2 days ago and today. The Copper Queens later conceded a penalty after VAR confirmed that Lushumo Mweemba handled the ball and Shuang equalized for China in the 84th minute.
China later had to face Zambia with 10 players after Li Qington was red carded in the 86th minute. The match ended with a 4-4 draw with each team earning a point, China remains in 3rd position and Zambia also remains position 4 in Group F standings.
