The Australian rugby team hosted the Springboks on Saturday morning at the SunCorp Stadium, Australia. The hosts shocked the World twice as they’ve beaten the Springboks 28-26 in the first leg of the Rugby Championship on Sunday the 12th of September at the Cbus Super Stadium. Consecutively the Wallabies defeated the Springboks 30-17 today.
The Wallabies looked virtuous upfront as South Africa’s defence didn’t stand any chance. 14 minutes into the first half the Wallabies took the lead through Len Ikitau on the 18th minute the Springboks banked 3 points through Pollard making the score line 5-3.
21 minutes later Ikitau extended Australian lead to 10-3 following a run from Tupou once more Cooper converted for the Wallabies on the 22nd minute. On the 26th minute Boks were awarded a penalty which was converted by Pollard. The hosts went into the half-time leading 15-13.
44 minutes into the second half Boks retook the lead through a try from Am, on the 51st minute Australia took the game from the Springboks through a penalty from Quade Cooper, Wallabies leading 18-17. 61 into the game Koroibete outsmarted Boks defence and extended Wallabies lead. The match ended into a 30-17 win for the Australians.
Australia will face Argentina in back-to-back fixtures meanwhile South Africa will face New Zealand.
