Former Soccer Star Senzo Meyiwa, trial case continues. Murdered in Vosloorus six years ago, the five men charged with his murder appeared at the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria Tuesday 26 April 2022. Sergeant Thabo Mosia in charge of the case, stated that he believes the crime scene was not tampered with and says this could be proven by the fact that there was no clear indication of any cleaning up.

Muzikawukhulelwa S’Tembu Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mtobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Ziphozonke Maphisa and Fisokuhle Ntulijave were accused of killing Meyiwa in Kelly Khumalo’s house, who was his girlfriend on the 26th of October 2014. The time that Mosia took to get to the crime scene and why he was not given the address of the scene was questioned by Malesela Teffo. Teffo further asked what Mosia was told in regards to the crime that had just been committed. Teffo is the lawyer representing four of the five men accused.

Mosia told the court that he was told that there were two suspects, one entered the house and proceed to demand cellphones and cash. This led to a scuffle and Meyiwa was shot during this scuffle. Mosia admitted that it took him 4 hours to reach the scene and he also told the court that evidence on the scene proved there was no tampering. Meyiwa’s sister says they as a family are desperately seeking closure following the death of her brother.
