The three siblings who consumed rat poison allegedly laid to rest. The Ngobeni family devastated after three siblings aged 6 Mpho Ngobeni, 8 Lerato Ngobeni and one year old sister Shirley Ngobeni, injected meat covered with rat poisoned, all passed on.

It is reported that the siblings ate the meat in a container on top of the fridge placed by the grandmother who has had planned to later set it for the rats.  VOTFM on Friday, visited the family in Ivory park, where they met with the grandmother and father Terence Chauke. The father is calling on the public to help in any way they can. “Anything that people may help with, We could appreciate, As I lost 3 Kids it’s not easy, As much As I try” said the father.

Speaking to the media, the grandmother said when she found the container in the zinc, she immediately gave the children  milk to drink and were rushed to the hospital when they were complaining about having stomach cramps and declared dead upon arrival. According to the Gauteng Department of Education spokesperson Steve Mabona, MEC Panyaza Lesufi also visited the family, to offer their condolences.

“The family is planning to bury them on Saturday, 11 June 2022. More details will be shared in due course. The purpose of the visit was for MEC Lesufi to convey his deepest condolences to the family and assure necessary support.” said Mabona
