South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies went head-to-head with Black Rhinos Queens of Zimbabwe, on Saturday afternoon at the King Zwelithini Stadium. Both teams have beaten their opponents in tough semi-final fixtures that they played on Thursday.
As usual Mamelodi Sundowns ladies are lethal in front of goal, netting seven times in their three games to date. However, their opponents Rhinos defence is resolute and hard to break.
In the opening half both teams knocked at each other’s ball posts. On the 10th minute Lerato Kgasago found the back of the net for the Sundowns Ladies. The Zimbabwe based team went into the Half-Time trailing by a goal down.
In the second half Black Rhino’s Queen tried to level matters but luck wasn’t on their side. On the 68th minute Nhlanhla extended Sundowns lead after a great run she made. Boitumelo’s left shot sealed the game on the 90+ minute and gave Sundowns a comfortable 3-0 win over Black Rhinos Queens.
The South African based team will represent the southern region at the inaugural Women’s Champions League in Egypt later this year.
