It was alleged by the EFF political leader Julius Malema during Hillary Gardees funeral proceedings that the murder of Hillary happens to be politically related and that the suspects are well known political members residing in Mpumalanga. Three suspects will make their appearance in court for bail applications.
Hillary Gardee was reported missing a week ago, found days later shot execution style at the back of her head, and body dumped in a veld. Hillary’s funeral was held Saturday 07 May 2022, where Police Minister Bheki Cele promised more arrest after one accused was arrested Friday afternoon. Cele also raised suspicions that political members belonging to political parties, are involved in the murder and will be mentioned during court proceedings.
The identities of the the other two accused believed to be political members, is still a mystery, they were arrested during the weekend. The first accused is said to be the owner of the lodge where Gardee is believed to have taken her last breath.
EFF party members are outside the court house chanting, requesting denial of bail for the three accused, saying they pose as flight risk after were caught fleeing and in hiding. Godrich Gardee however says he will not be attending court, the ordeal has been too much for him and his family. He says he’s not ready to face the men who ripped off his heart.
