“They call me David Genaro baby” a line from legendary actor Jamie Bartlett who played David Genaro on the well known soapie Rhythm City, has died at age 55. His death was confirmed to the media through a close family member.
The actors death was announced Monday 23 May, with cause of death yet to be stated. South Africa has acted to the news and responded with condolences and memories they have of Jamie Bartlett and the acting he gave. His laugh, his brandy consuming, a womanizer and lastly the man who had 9 lives. Genaro was a hardcore criminal who got Mzansi hooked, and the TV with threats to stop watching rhythm city if ever Genaro stops appearing.
The multi award winner, Bartlett, made television appearances both locally and internationally with his first major role being in the US film American Ninja 2 before making a number of appearances. He was also on Isidingo as Mike O’Reilly.
