The South African Civil Aviation Authority, Cessna aircraft on January 23, 2020, the aircraft crashed. The report of the plane crash claimed there were three live on board and they all passed away.
Fikile Mbalula released a statement report on Monday 24 January 2022 “The 23 of January 2022 marked exactly two years since the unfortunaten incident where three South African civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) employees lost their lives when the aircraft they were travelling in crashed on 23 January 2020.’’
The captain, Thabiso Tolo, first officer Tebogo Lekalakala and flight inspector Gugu Comfort Mnguni. The plane crash happened in Outenniqua Mountains near George.
Fikile Mbalula says “we appointed the Ethiopian Accident Investigation Bureau, who undertook the independent investigation.’’
Mbalula this morning on a press report said “Submissions can be made to AIIP in Ethiopia so that it can be looked at. They are the people with authority who can give us more information about how the aircraft was contained and whether there were warning and whether if there was negligence.”
The families of the members who died were given the final report on Sunday.
