The Springboks finished their third test of the Castle Lager Lions Series 2021 Tournament against The British & Irish Lions with a hard fought 19 – 16 win against Irish Lions.
The teams locked horns at Cape Town Stadium at 18:00 both teams came into the fixture hungry for a win as they played level in the last fixture.
In the first 10 minutes The Springboks took the lead of 3-0 but the Irish Lions turned things around in the 16th minute through a penalty by Russel and Owens in the 18th minute.
Boks went into the half-time trailing 6 -10. Heading into the second half The Springboks came back disciplined and strong, they turned things around through a try by Luke Cowan-Dickie.
In the dying minutes the Irish Lions conceded two late penalties and Morne Steyn stepped up to convert them, and the Springboks managed to seal their lead with a 19 -16 win, and walked over the tourists (British & Irish Lions).
