Thuli Phongolo withdrawing assault charges against well know celebrity, Maphorisa, raises red flags for Gender Based Violence (GBV) cases according to twitter users, just as Babes Wodumo has done.
Actress, DJ and TV personnel Thuli Phongolo opened an assault case against boyfriend, Maphorisa, which she later withdrew. In the past, well known singer and songwriter Babes Wodumo did the same with her late husband Mampintja. Babes Wodumo did a life video on Instagram with Maphorisa seen physically assaulting Wodumo.
The couple later issued a statement suggesting that was rather staged, even though she filled an assault case and her father took to the media to confirm it was assault and the family condemns it. With Phongolo doing the same, South Africans are rather not impressed, stating the act creates a negative narrative as to how Gender Based Violence is handled, most especially amongst celebrities.
Listen, Don't put your nose in the business of people who have seen each other naked. Don't enter 😕 😢
