Six-year-old Khayalethu Magadla will be laid to rest at Bityi in the Eastern Cape on Saturday 16 July. Magadla family have expressed how thankful they are to everyone who supported them during this difficult time.
Khayalethu went missing for weeks, after he was playing with his friends at a nearby park in Soweto, when he fell into a manhole. An huge weeks of long search, the body of six year old Khayalethu’s body was at last recovered at the Eldorado Park Waste Plant. The family was accompanied by the community members, to the manhole to complete rituals and conduct a prayer.
A memorial service was held where Nhlanhla Lux said a thing or two and ordered politicians to show their dedication to the community of Soweto. Magadlas body was then immediately transported to the family’s home town in Eastern Cape, where he will be laid to rest today. The public say they are at peace to know the boy will be finally laid to rest after a traumatic search.
