Suspects linked with Absa stolen millions

Khumbulani Elvis Ntombela and Nonelwa Nondlazi appeared earlier today at the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercial Crimes Court. They were charged with fraud, money laundering and theft in relation to the R103 million allegedly stolen from Absa.

The first suspect arrest Ntombela, is a Melmoth based traditional healer. He was arrested by the Hawks Serious Commercial Crime investigation unit on Johannesburg together with the Durban and Pinetown Tactical response were able to track down and arrest him. However, the second suspect Nondlazi handed herself over to the police accompanied by her legal representative. They were charged with theft, money laundering and fraud, after they were linked to benefiting in the theft of the Absa money through bank transactions.

The police made more arrests, they apprehended a 24-year-old female and who is the partner of Gershom Matomane. He was arrested in January, together with his other partner Athembile Mpani. They were both released on bail. They will be expected back in court on the 30th of June while Nondlazi and Ntombela’s case has been postponed to the 18th of May. Nondlazi has been confirmed to be Xolela Masebeni’s partner. Who is the late IT specialist, who was accused with defrauding Absa bank, who was shot dead. He was found to have fraudulently transferred approximately 103 million into different bank accounts.
