The former Everton and Manchester United striker recently unveiled a new signing at Chelsea on Thursday evening. Lukaku returns to Stamford Bridge after his departure at Chelsea, in 2014.
He made a name for himself during his tenure at Everton after making 166 appearances and scoring 87 goals in those appearances. Two years later he joined Manchester United and made 96 appearances with 42 goals then.
The 28-year-old striker joined Inter Milan from Manchester United in 2019, with a deal worth 73 million Euros. After joining the Serie A side, Lukaku stepped up and replaced Mauro Icardi as Inter Milan’s main striker. Lukaku experienced criticism and racism in his first season at Inter for poor finishing, but he rose to the challenge and even surpassed Icardi’s scoring rate.
Lukaku scored 27 goals for Inter Milan in the 2020/21 season and helped them end their 11-year Serie A title drought. Lukaku now re-joins the London based side Chelsea on a permanent deal from Inter Milan worth 115 million euros ahead of the 2021/22 season. The 28-year-old Belgian striker will don the NO.3 jersey.
