President Cyril Ramaphosa has, as a mark of reverence and in accordance with Chapter 1.5.2 (a) of the State, Official and Provincial Funeral Policy Manual, designated the funeral of struggle stalwart and Ambassador Yasmin “Jessie” Duarte, as a Special Official Funeral Category 2, which will be held on Sunday, 17 July 2022.

Until her untimely passing Ambassador Duarte passed on in the early hours of Sunday morning and will be buried Sunday afternoon as per her religious belief.

President Ramaphosa wishes to pass his condolences to the family, friends and comrades of Ambassador Duarte, who dedicated her life to the liberation of South Africa and particularly the emancipation of women.
