National Freedom Party (NFP) wants President Cyril Ramaphosa and the Police Minister, Bheki Cele out with immediate effect.
NFP believes that President Cyril Ramaphosa and Bheki Cele did not take the recent civil unrest seriously, the NFP says the loss of life, damage to infrastructure and racial tensions could have been avoided if the country’s leadership had responded more urgently. Innocent Magwaza called for both of them to step down.
“We urge the president of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa and police minister Bheki Cele to step down with immediate effect due to the recent unrest which was not taken seriously,” says the NFP’s Innocent Magwaza.
During this shocking unrest, a 41 year old internationally acclaimed choreographer Delani Khumalo is believed to have been killed while he was in Phoenix to look for fuel and his car was burnt, no arrests have been made . His memorial service was held on Friday, many of his colleagues came out to mourn his death including the founder of kwaMashu Community Advancement Project, Edmund Mhlongo. He also mentioned that they are devastated by his death.
