The Patrice Motsepe foundation has made a donation of R30 million to assist in Kwa Zulu Natal on the damage caused by flooding. The South African billionaire donation is provided as a relief effort. KZN has experienced heavy rain which left the province destroyed all round. The Motsepe foundation is known for making donations and its bursary schemes, they recently donates R1 Billion to help fight Covid-19.
Many families are left homeless while others grief for the loss that came with the feisty weather. A father of four had to watch as neighbours dig up the bodies of all four children. Another father collected and respectfully wrapped the body of his 6 year old son before placing it at the back of a bakkie.
The straining weather brought with, plenty of heartache to the whole of South Africa. Celebrities have also showed up to try and assist with Ayanda Ncwane making an appearance crossing rivers to hand over blankets, and amount of R60 000 and offer prayer. Many organizations have urged South Africa to offer help and donations where strength lies.
A group of four rescue team members from Limpopo are also preparing to depart in heading for KZN to assist the rescue team in further searches and families. The death toll continues to rise as the rescue team and community members continue to search for missing bodies.
