Four people confirmed dead after a shooting at a Pietermaritzburg tavern in KwaZulu-Natal. Eight others were quickly rushed to hospital.

Reports allege a VW Polo with two armed men in it, stormed into the tavern around 8.30pm on Saturday night and started shooting randomly at patrons, leaving two dead on the scene and two others take their last breath at the hospital.

A police investigation has launched, the shooting transpired hours before a mass shooting that happened in Soweto at Nomzamo tavern in Orlando, where 23 patrons were shot, killing 14 and 4 in critical conditions.
