Bayern Munchen defeated Borusssia Dortmund 3 -1 in the German super cup final, to win their first silverware for the 2021/22 season.
Two of the favourite teams in the German Bundesliga, clashed in an epic super cup final match, It all started in honour for the late Bayern Munchen legend Gerd Muller, as the Munchen team came out to warmup all dressed in special jersey number 9 shirts which was made famous by the fallen legend.
The match did not disappoint as both teams were sensational, the Bayern Munchen talisman Robert Lewandoski, opened the scoring just four minutes before the half time, while Thomas Muller made the score line 2 nil in the 49th minute.
However Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus managed to pull one goal back for the home team. Lewandoski went on to complete his brace in the 74 minute making it 3 – 1 in favour of Bundesliga Champions.
