Former Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng commented on the R22 million 24 hour glow flag Minister Sports, Arts and Culture Nathi Mthethwa introduced. “This R22 Million flag is actually disrespectful to South Africans! It has an undertone that says ‘you guys are stupid and we’ll continue looting in front of you and you won’t do anything about it!’… It’s just the ANC showing it will never ever care.” said Mogoeng in a tweet.

Minister Nathi Mthethwa has sent the Monumental Flag for review, after South Africans complained about its totality. Many took to their social media’s and government whatsapp, to lay their complaint and cries, calling the amount put on the table as ridiculous. many feel the money could be used elsewhere, saying people have been put through a lot for the past two months with the SRD and KZN floods, that wasting R22 million on a flag is a slap in the face to South Africans.

The matter seems to have not set well not only for ordinary South Africans, but the likes of former Chief Justice Judge Mogoeng Mogoeng, and former DA leader Mmusi Maimane. The two did not hold back but call a spade as is, they did not hold back in saying the government should stop wasting tax payers money, only to pocket the rest of it.
