Stellenbosch University SRC Calls for Expulsion on Suspended Student Urinator

A dehumanizing act took place at the Stellenbosch University, now labelled as a race act. An allegedly racist incident occurred at the University over the weekend. According to the SA Students’ Congress (Sasco), “a white student broke into a black student’s room at Huis Marais residence and urinated on his belongings.” The white student was suspended on Monday with SRC calling for his expulsion.

On the video making the rounds on social media, the white student can be seen urinating on the property of a black student at Stellenbosch University’s Huis Marais resident. The student in question was suspended on Monday. “The university strongly condemns the destructive, hurtful and racist incident that was captured on a cellphone video in the Huis Marais residence on the Stellenbosch University campus in the early hours of Sunday morning,” spokesperson Martin Viljoen confirmed.

“Following his suspension a further swift but detailed investigation will determine the final outcomes. Expulsion and/or criminal charges are not excluded from the possible available options, based on the investigation’s findings.”

The SRC at the institution is however calling for the expulsion of the student with immediate effect. South Africa reacted to the video and feels investigations are a waste of time as the clip contain enough information needed to come to a conclusion.
