The lightning strike occurred during a heavy storm on Wednesday morning. The lightning struck a high-tension power cable at the Congolese Capital Kinshasa, snapped and fell into the ditch that was filled with water.
Women and men lost their lives by the electrocution on in a terrible accident, being electrocuted dying instantly on scene.
At least twenty-six people have died, the majority of the victims are female market traders as it is mostly women who sell at the market. It includes 24 women and 2 men.
There are two people who are reportedly to be seriously injured.
