Queen Elizabeth has been ruling for 70 years, making her the 2nd longest serving British Monarch to reach the milestone.
She marks the occasion with making a big announcement about the future of the royal family. Marking the day with a personal request issuing a statement saying:
“…it is my sincere with that…Camila will be known as Queen Consort and continues her own loyal service. And when, in the fullness of times, my son Charles becomes King. I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me.”
She said, “I look forward to continuing to serve you with all my heart.”
Queen Elizabeth made history this February 6 as the only British monarch to reign for 7 decades, making it 70 years of service.
The actual day she became Queen is usually one of mixed emotions for her Majesty, it was also the day her father died, when she was only 25 years old. Now the 1st to celebrate platinum jubilee.
