A 12 year old Dowen College boarding school student was beaten to death by fellow students due to his refusal to join cult, he succumbed to the injuries.

The 12 year old student identified as Sylvester Omoroni Junior, was attending Dowen College in Lekki, Lagos state, Nigeria. Cultism is identified as a major social problem in Nigeria, it is mainly practiced in schools and campuses.

Fellow students pressurized him to join them, though his refusal to join their cult resulted in them beating him to death. Omoroni’s father revealed in a video that his son was subjected to bullying and abuse.

The father went on to disclose that students who bullied the young man have been reported to school management in the previous term. Many are calling for the young man’s justice, as people have come forward urging the authorities to investigate the incident.
